2003 Seminar for Arabian Studies was held from Thursday July 17 to Saturday
July 19, 2003, at the British
Museum,
London, U.K. It was
supported by the MBI
Foundation.
All lectures were held in the Stevenson Auditorium, Clore
Centre.

2003 Seminar for Arabian Studies - Abstracts
A reception was held in the Department of the Ancient Near East galleries
on the evening of Friday 18 July 2003. Peter Parr spoke a few words about
John Dayton, one of the founders and first secretary of the Seminar for
Arabian Studies, who sadly had recently passed away.
The reception was in part sponsored by Trident
Press, who were launching the publication of a new book at the reception.
This was the Archaeology
of the United Arab Emirates: Proceedings of the First International Conference
on the Archaeology of the UAE. by: D.T. Potts, H. Naboodah and P.
Hellyer (eds.). 2003. Trident Press Ltd., London. ISBN 1900724-88-X -

Peter Hellyer, Executive Director of the Abu
Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey and one of the editors of this
new volume, did a brief speech about the book launch during the reception.
