Dear Colleague
Please find a booking
form, a provisional programme and accommodation information for this
year's Seminar. If you require any additional letters of invitation please
let us know. For the accommodation many of you will be pleased to know
we have gone back to Ramsay Hall. The cost of the room + breakfast is
£27.50 per night.
We would strongly
encourage people to pay for both conference fees and accommodation as
soon as possible. Since we will be unable to negotiate refunds on bookings
you are also strongly advised to take out insurance with your travel agent.
Please make sure we have your booking form and payment by 15 May at the
latest.
The Committee regrets
that conference fees must be paid by all, regardless of whether or not
you are giving a paper. The Seminar for Arabian Studies is a non-profit
making organization and costs to participants are kept as low as possible.

ACCOMMODATION:
Conference accommodation will be available at Ramsay
Hall, 20 Maple Street, London W1. Tel: 0207 387 4537; Fax 0207 383
0843. The cost is £27.50 per person per night in single-bed rooms
and includes breakfast. To reserve accommmodation please complete the
booking form below.

Since we will be unable to negotiate refunds on bookings you are strongly
advised to take out insurance with your travel agent. A list
of hotels is also provided for those who prefer to make their own
arrangements.
REGISTRATION:
The conference fee will be £70, or £25 for individual days
(full time students and Friends
of the British Museum are offered a special rate of £20, or
£8 per day). The sessions will take place at the British Museum,
Gt. Russell St., London WC1B 3DG. Registration will take place from 8.30
am onwards at the Seminar. To avoid delay, we would be grateful if you
could please pay your fees in advance. Please return the booking form
below with your payment (Sterling cheques payable to: Seminar for Arabian
Studies) to reach us by 15 May.
PAYMENT from ABROAD:
We regret that our bank no longer accepts Eurocheques free of charges.
Therefore the following are methods for sending money:
(1) Send a cheque
or draft (drawn on a British Bank), made payable to 'Seminar for Arabian
Studies'. This is a service your Bank can provide.
(2) Ask your Bank
to transfer the money direct to our account in Sterling (adding £2
handling charge for amounts under £100 or £7 for amounts over
£100). If you use method (2) your Bank should send the payment (including
